BDCOM Next-Generation BSR Series

BDCOM BSR series is the next-generation multiservice switching router platform developed by Shanghai Baud Data Communication Co., Ltd (BDCOM), which has more than 10 years of research experience, after BDCOM collects, analyzes and then adopts users' ideas and suggestions. This router platform has adopted a complete set of design solution in which a 64-bit multi-core processor, a gigabit switching chip and FPGA are exquisitely integrated so that it has excellent performances such as a layer-3 forwarding rate of 2Mpps.

BDCOM BSR2800 BDCOM BSR3800 BDCOM BSR5800
BDCOM BSR series includes BSR5800, BSR3800 and BSR2800. This series of routers has up to 4 gigabit LAN ports, one USB ports, at least 4 expanded HIC slots and 2/6/8 high-density HIM slots, and supports tens of expanded modules and interfaces such as Ethernet, E1, T1, serial, Async, 3G, FXS and FXO. Thus it is flexible in configuration and can meet users’ varied choices.
BDCOM BSR series is equipped with the BDCOM-propriety operating system, BDROS, and provides rich software functions such as routing, switching, safety, VPN, voice and wireless function, making themselves a real multiservice unified platform.
With their powerful processing ability and expansibility, varied software functions and hardware modules, BDCOM BSR series can meet different networking requirements of government, financial institutions, arms, operators or enterprises.
Main Characteristics
Powerful Performances
BDCOM BSR series is driven by the 64-bit dual-core processor, the private gigabit ASIC switching chip and FPGA components, enabling the whole hardware platform of the whole router to run on the hi-speed Ethernet frame. This innovative design attributes BSR with an innate extra powerful processing ability, provides a guarantee to the upper-layer software functions.
Strong expansibility
Because built on the basis of switching core, BSR routers can expand their external interfaces, slots and modules without any limitation from the total CPU resources. The switching chip guarantees that the whole BSR router is provided with sufficient and broadband internal channels, making the expansibility of BSR routers exceed that of traditional modularized routers.
Excellent power-saving ability
BSR routers adopt the new-generation hardware chip which can guarantee the powerful processing ability and meanwhile save power. The power consumption of a whole BSR router is reduced by 15% to 20% compared with the mainstream devices in this industry. The long-term users can save the maintenance cost, which carries out the nationally advocated low-carbon idea. Additionally, BDCOM BSR series also supports redundant power sources.
Varied protocols
This series supports the link-layer protocols such as FR, X.25, PPP, ISDN and HDLC, and dynamic routes, the former including RIP. OSPF, BGP, ISIS and BEIGRP, the static route and the policy route, so this series can interconnect the equipment of the main manufacturers in this industry.Further more, this series supports the integration of multiple services like routing, switching, voice, safety and wireless, so they can meet the requirements of complicated network establishment.
New services
The MPLS characteristics, and the MPLS-based layer-2/ layer-3 VPN technology are supported so that the transparent Ethernet transmission service and the flexible enterprise interconnection are realized.IPv6 data forwarding, routing protocols and multicast routing protocols are all supported; also the IPv4/IPv6 protocol stack and the interconnection technology are supported, so the existing networks can be smoothly upgraded to the IPv6 networks.
High security
This series supports flexible ACL firewall filtration technology, the NAT technology, multiple VPN technologies such as IPSec/L2TP/PPTP/GRE, and multiple security technologies such as AAA, Radius, TACACS+, PAP and CHAP.
Flow management policy
Varied queues are supported such as FIFO, PQ, CQ, CBWFQ, LLQ, WFQ, RED, WRED, DSCP, IP Precedence, RTS, RSVP and CAR, so key services can be guaranteed with a reliable bandwidth and users’ bandwidth will be utilized more efficiently.
Flexible management and maintenance
This series provides a lot of inband or outband management tools such as Console and Telnet, so the management and monitoring of network can be facilitated; they also support Chinese- and English-version website pages, so home or oversea users can easily handle website pages.
