Embedded 3G/4G dongle and SIM Lock (Optional):
The WiPad may include an embedded 3G/4G dongle. Mobile operators or service providers are able to assign (lock) their branded SIM to WiPad.
Users will not be able to use WiPad with other vendors' SIM cards.
Quick start :
Configuring WiPad via WiFi and a web browser
This section describes how to configure a WiPad via your web browser.
In order to access WiPad with your browser,you first need to connect your PC or device to WiPad via WiFi
Make sure WiPad is plugged into the 100-240VAC power and LED “PWR” on
Find and connect to WiPad manager application on your PC or device.
Select “WiPad” from the wireless network found and connect to it make sure the WiFi manager is configured to show both infrastructure and ad-hoc WiFi network.
In your web browser’s address bar,type in http://192.168.0.1 an enter.
The internal web will be displayed showing the info page
To configure cellular parameter
Select “Cellular”.The page will be displayed.
Erase the “APN”and Dial String text and fill out the parameter that you received from your cellular provider,and User Name and password if needed.
If you have a EVDO/CDMA modem,fill out “CDMA”(without the quotes)in the APN field and save.
You may need to update your firmware to support new modems ,check the support area at www.wipad.hk
To connect WiPad to network
Insert the USB dongle into WiPad and power
Find the WiPad and select it
Type http://192.168.0.1 and enter
Once the modem goes online with a effective SIM card ,The IP address will show the it received from the cellular carrier.the “system status”will show “Connected to ISP” and “modem status” will show “USB modem online “
Now you can setup WiFi parameter
Before a 3G USB modem can connect to the cellular provider.it must be configured with the correct APN (access point name)of the carrier.
For 3G service .most provider have a specific APN that needs to be used
The best way to get the APN info is from cellular modem provider
The APN info may also be found within the configuration area of the modem driver you may have installed on a PC
The internet is also a good way to look for the APN .you may search by entering your provider’s name and test “APN”
For many cellular provider.only APN needs to be configured to the modem to connect correctly
Some cellular provider ,however, require a “username “and “password”to be configured as well.
